Dr Kennedy has expertise in obstetrics and gynaecological conditions.

Some treatments can be carried out at his consulting rooms in the city. Some need to be completed at a hospital as an inpatient or as day surgery.

Obstetrics

 

Dr Kennedy offers management of both normal and high risk pregnancies. He delivers at both Hobart Private Hospital and Calvary Hospital, Lenah Valley. Some women with intermediate obstetric private health cover deliver as a private patient at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

Prenatal counseling

  • Counseling for obstetric anaesthesia

Antenatal screening

  • Investigations e.g blood tests, ultrasounds

  • Counseling for high risk conditions

  • Screening tests for Down's syndrome and other chromosomal abnormalities

Antenatal management

  • Shared care with private hospital midwives (not available for high risk pregnancies)

  • Detection and monitoring of complications e.g fetal growth restriction, pre-eclampsia

  • Vaginal Birth after Caesarean Section (VBAC)
